Sunnie made her way to the Rogue Valley in the ’90s from Portland, where her journey in cosmetology began in Medford. Since then, she has dedicated her career to mastering the art of hair design.
Sunnie continued her education at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in Los Angeles and had the opportunity to work alongside Jimmy Angel, a renowned artistic director and educator with the Paul Mitchell company.
Known for her precision and attention to detail, Sunnie approaches every haircut and color with creativity and care. In 2003, she founded Salon Avalon, where she continues to bring her passion for hairstyling and commitment to her clients to life every day.

Greetings! I recently relocated from Portland, Oregon to Medford, bringing over 13 years of experience in the beauty industry. I remain deeply committed to my craft and continuously refine my skills through advanced education in cutting and color.
Creativity has always been at the heart of my work. I take a fearless approach to styling and love pushing artistic boundaries to create looks that feel expressive, modern, and uniquely personal. My passion began in childhood, styling and cutting hair for friends and family long before attending beauty school at 18.
My specialties include barbering, balayage, precision lightening, vivid color transformations, and hair tinsel. Throughout my career, I’ve sought mentorship and advanced training that shaped my technical foundation and artistic eye. I’ve had the privilege of shadowing a senior stylist with 33 years of experience, attending advanced Paul Mitchell training programs in both Hawaii and Portland, and apprenticing at Portland’s premier barbershop, Throne Traditional Barbershop — where I later worked as a professional barber for four years and quickly built a loyal clientele.
I’m known for my attention to detail, thoughtful consultations, and genuine listening. My goal is always to bring your vision to life while helping you feel confident, seen, and beautifully yourself. I believe hair is more than style — it’s one of the first expressions of our essence and individuality.
